# How do I analyze shipment notification performance? Learn about Email notifications analytics

# Overview

The Email notifications analytics page shows how 17TRACK notification emails are sent, delivered, and opened. It also shows the clicks, orders, and revenue generated by the recommended products in those emails. Use the filters to evaluate email reach and compare performance across trigger statuses, notification rules, and recommended products.

All metrics on the page are calculated from the active filters. When a filter changes, the overview cards, trend charts, node tables, and recommended-product data update together.

### 1. How to open the Email notifications analytics page

1. Go to your Shopify admin panel and open the 17TRACK app.
2. Click Analytics in the left navigation, then click the Email notifications tab.
3. The first time you open the page, data is displayed using the default filters. Adjust the filters when you want to focus on a specific notification type, trigger status, or rule.

### 2. Use the filters to select the data you want to review

The filter bar includes a date range, notification type, trigger status, and rule name. Different filters are combined with AND. When you select multiple options within one filter, records matching any selected option are included.

* Date range: Choose a preset such as Yesterday, last 7 days, last 30 days, last 90 days, or last 180 days. You can also select a start date and an end date, then click Confirm to apply a custom range.
* Notification type: Choose which email group to analyze: Shipment notifications or Order notifications.
* Trigger status: Filter by the shipment status that triggered the email. Available options include Info received, In transit, Expired, Pick up, Out for delivery, Undelivered, Delivered, and Alert. The list supports search and multiple selections. Click Clear to remove the selected statuses.
* Rule name: Filter by the notification rule, including Default condition and Custom condition. Expand a custom condition to view its nested conditions. The list supports search; click Clear to reset the filter.

After a filter is applied, the vs. previous period values are calculated from the current date range. A value of `--` means that no comparable previous period is available.

### 3. Review the email reach overview

Here you can find: An overview of opened, sent, and delivered emails within the selected filters.

* Opens: The number of notification emails opened by recipients. The Open rate below the card is the share of opened emails among delivered emails.
* Emails sent: The number of notification emails the system attempted to send. The Delivery rate below the card is the share of delivered emails among sent emails.
* Emails delivered: The number of notification emails successfully delivered to recipients. Emails failed is the number of emails that were not successfully delivered.
* vs. previous period: The difference between the current range and the previous comparable range. `--` means that no previous-period value is available.

### 4. Review the email reach trend

Here you can find: How sent, delivered, opened, and failed emails change over time. Click a legend item below the chart to show or hide that series.

* Day / Week / Month: Switch the time granularity of the trend chart. Use Day for daily changes and Week or Month for a broader view.
* Legend: Toggle Emails sent, Emails delivered, Opens, and Emails failed. Move the pointer over the chart to see values for a specific time period.

Use By node to group results by shipment status, or By rule to group results by notification rule. The table includes the following fields:

* Trigger status / node: The shipment status or node that triggered the email.
* Emails sent: The number of emails sent for the node or rule.
* Emails delivered: The number of successfully delivered emails.
* Delivery rate: Emails delivered ÷ Emails sent.
* Emails failed: The number of emails that were not successfully delivered.
* Opens: The number of opened emails.
* Open rate: Opens ÷ Emails delivered.
* vs. previous period: The difference from the previous comparable period for the corresponding metric.
* Actions: Click View details to drill into the matching records. The fields shown depend on the detail view that opens.

### 6. Review recommended-product performance

Here you can find: The clicks, orders, and revenue generated by the recommended-product module in notification emails.

* Recommended product clicks: The number of clicks on recommended products. Recommended product click rate is clicks ÷ recommended-product impressions.
* Recommended product orders: The number of orders attributed to the recommended-product module. Post-click conversion rate is recommended-product orders ÷ recommended-product clicks.
* Recommended product revenue: The order value attributed to the recommended-product module. Revenue per order is recommended-product revenue ÷ recommended-product orders.

These metrics follow the active date, notification type, trigger status, and rule-name filters.

### 10. View recommended-product click and conversion details

After you click View details from the product list or node-conversion table, you can inspect individual email events. The detail page or drawer supports searching by tracking number and shows the current result count.

The detail fields include:

* Tracking number: The tracking number associated with the notification.
* Recipient's Email: The email address that received the notification.
* Trigger status: The shipment status that triggered the email.
* Condition name: The notification rule or condition that matched.
* Time: When the email event occurred.
* Product clicked: The recommended product clicked by the recipient.
* Attributed order: The order attributed to the click. It shows `--` when there is no attributed order.
* Order amount: The amount of the attributed order. It shows `--` when there is no order.
* Time to purchase: The time from the click to purchase. It shows `--` when no purchase was completed.

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/1/c/c/3/1cc3f89e3566e700/analytics-email-notifications-_1ifpn18.png)

When you open details by node, the page groups recommended-product click and conversion records for that node. For example, the AvailableForPickup detail view shows the records triggered by the Pick up status.

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/1/c/c/3/1cc3f89e3566e700/analytics-email-notifications-_o36okq.png)

When you open details by rule, the page groups every recommended-product click and its attributed order for that rule. The header identifies the selected rule, such as Default condition.
