How to set up a refund to store credit?
I. Overview
Compared to refunding to the original customer payment account, refunding to store credit can reduce merchants financial loss in the return process and keep revenue within your store. When processing a refund, your customers will receive a gift card from your store, which encourages them to mcontinue shopping in your store.
II. How to Set It Up?
In the 17TRACK APP backend, go to the "Returns" page -> Return Settings -> After-Sales Method -> Refund to Store Credit, and toggle on the "Refund to Store Credit" switch.

When enabled, you can set a certain amount of bonus points to incentivize customers to choose store credit refunds over refunds to their original payment account. There are three settings for bonus points:
Method 1: No Bonus
For example, if a customer applies for a $50 refund, both the original payment account refund and the store credit refund will be a maximum of $50.

Method 2: Percentage of Return Value
For example, if a customer returns 2 clothes totaling $50, and you set a 10% bonus, this means the store credit refund can be up to $55, including $5 of bonus points ($50 * 10% = $5); while a refund to the original payment account will only net the customer $50.

Method 3: Fixed Amount
You offer a fixed amount for all store credit refunds, for example, $5. Please note that the currency of the fixed bonus must be the same as the currency used by the customer when placing the order; otherwise, the bonus points will not take effect.

III. Customer Experience
When applying for a refund, customers can choose their preferred refund method on the submission review page.

After the refund is processed, 17TRACK will use the actual refund amount as the initial card value to create a gift card on the Shopify platform and send it to the customer.

After the refund, customers can view and copy the gift card code on the self-service return page, or they can receive the gift card code through a 17TRACK gift card notification.


Consumers can copy and paste the gift card code into the checkout page to deduct the order amount.

Note: The value of the gift card has the same purchasing power as currency. For example, a $50 gift card can be used to deduct up to $50 from the order amount. According to Shopify's official rules, Shopify gift cards can be used multiple times until the card's balance reaches zero or the card expires (gift cards created through 17TRACK returns will not have a limited validity period).
